Sales….evil damn sales!!

GAH!!!!  Sales at Myer are simply evil!!!  JUST EVIL!!

You remember that horribly freaky clown from the IT movie (Stephen King)…I tried to add an image but i freaked myself out too much I couldn’t do it…sorry…Just do your own search if you can’t really remember the extent of the evil….

We went to Myer yesterday to just have a squizz and spent far too much money, but you know in my mind of course I can justify it…we needed sheets for the new bed, we needed a mattress protector, we needed a new robert welch cutlery set and additional accoutrements…yes…I swear we did!!!! *hangs head in shame*  They were so shiny and bright, and they looked so smooth, their sparkles were calling to me and the 30% off signs were just placed perfectly in front and GAHHHHH!!!

We got the Meridian set for anyone who knows/likes robert welch.  I also bought the matching steak knives  (2 sets because they are smarty pants and only give you 4 when you buy a set of 8….grrr) and the salad server things as well.  I do want to get the other bits and pieces over time that match the set, like the pie server and the pastry forks and the cheese/pate set etc…but that will perhaps be christmas and birthday gifts to myself for the next few years 😀  Although they are not really all that expensive for each set.  All of that was still over 100 dollars cheaper than the non sale price of just the set…so I honestly think it was a good purchase 😀

Meridian set

Slight peak on the bottom

I gave in to the frenzy!! Yes I did!!

IN all honesty I don’t mind though, we don’t have bills, we don’t have kids we should be feeding instead, we don’t have major things we should be spending the money on…so it will take an extra fortnight to pay off the credit card now…not a major issue….

Hubby and I have had the same cutlery for over 10 years (I had it before I met him) and it was the cheap stuff you buy from Woolworths for like 10 dollars, it has lasted us well and done its job, it was mismatched, missing and generally looking a little worn –  it was nice to continue to purchase things together.  We have been doing a much needed clean out of the old crap in our lives and updating to things we both want instead of what we brought to the relationship through default.

But seriously we can’t really need much else for the house now, we have over the last year spent a fortune on buying things we needed (read: wanted) to improve our happiness rating, and I think we have almost reached the point of saturation.

I only want a couple more things….

  • A display cabinet for all my ornaments
  • Another bookcase
  • better (read: glasses I like) wine glasses
  • Clothes Dryer
  • Dishwasher

See not too much more….HAHAHAH  just another 6k or so….*cough splutter*….

Anyway, today I am going to spending the day cleaning out, dismantling and re-arranging the bedroom, our bed comes tomorrow and they set it up for us as well as deliver it.  So we just have to have the room sorted out, I want to vacuum and move the dresser and clean the wall where the dog sleeps 🙂

New bed 🙂 Nothing fancy..might get frame later if necessary

I better get off my butt then!!

Sydney

Sydney. What can I say? 🙂 I think I really do love this town!

We stayed at a best mates place for the first couple of days as previously mentioned and we caught up with my other best mate and his boyfriend.

Spent a massive day walking around the CBD, looking at shops and eating then coffee etc, was very cool. I have missed them a lot 🙂

We had an awesome dinner cooked for us on Sunday night and I made tiramasu for desert. But the beef and guinness stew was delicious! We also met a really nice girl called sara and hubby was a little surprised at how similar me and get were 🙂

Also have managed to meet up with Carolyn and her partner, Tim and his partner, Trevor and Gabby (all on separate occasions) and somehow we are not yet insane! Partners I had never met before either!!!

I have spent a bucketload of time driving around Sydney to pick and drop off and meet up and to be quite honest I am fucking exhausted 🙂 I think Sydney drivers are nuts and just as unpredictable as Melbourne drivers, however – Sydney drivers STILL know how to merge onto freeways and that is awesome!!

Currently I am standing at the train station waiting to head into the city with and lunch with shannon as we are not going to see her again before we leave for Melbourne tomorrow! I am going to miss her immensely.

We have plans for this evening as well in which we will be catching up with even more friends and hopefully not having too late a night – we have to check out by 10 am!! Lol

Heading back to Melbourne tomorrow and I really don’t know how I feel about it, I really have enjoyed being back here and I have enjoyed catching up with everyone, but is that because it is a holiday? If, for example, we did move back here, would we fit into our friends lives anymore or would we barely see them? Would I find a job, would we be happy with renting again, etcetcetcetcetc
🙂

Train is here now, so I am going to sign off for thr moment! Have a great day everyone!

Another big day…I am soooo wrecked!

Today was huge, we left the desks in the back of my car that we bought at ikea yesteday (which I failed to mention in my last post) and decided to head to Doncaster for the day.

It is hubbies favourite shopping centre and I dont really mind it all that much – it has all of our favourite stores and it is clean and parking is always a breeze, even in the later part of the morning (you just hve to know which area to head for).

We went to Pandora and bought me a couple of new charms….I love them!  I have been wanting them for a little while.  I will take pictures of them tonight and post them 🙂  They are soo very lovely!  Then whilst waiting to pay – we found a little viking charm!!!! So damn cute I had to have him as well.  As it currently stands – I think I need maybe…6 more charms and I will be full bracelet, which means I can start on my next one!!  hehehe

So we then walked around a little bit, had a look at a few shops and I bought a pair of sunnies – finally!!  They are very nice and will be awesome for our sydney trip as I did not want to drive for 8 hours without sunnies…would be horrific!  Ralph Lauren I think is the brand – and nowhere near the price I thought they would be to be honest…less than 150…is that good ?  i have no idea – I just liked the style!

Then  of course the big purchase – TWO NEW IMACS!!!!!! oh yeah baby!!  Pretty excited about them actually! They are very nice and they will look lovely on our new desks…must remember to take a picture of all these new bits and pieces!

So we finally get home after all that and attempt to set up the desks and clean out the current room!  What a mess!! Hubby had to reset his mac as we were not sure which one had the RAM upgrade, anyway long story short – the desks got built, the macs got set up and the dining table looks like a bomb has hit it 🙂

Will be cleaning the entire place tonight anyway as we have dinner tomorrow night with everyone 🙂

***edited to add

WOW, I thought I hit the post button – i didn’t…so here it is then…a little late though 😀

Fail, fail and more fail!

Fail day today, idiots everywhere and people making my life difficult….just one of those days….

I did no exercise yesterday as my legs a re too sore and I really should give them time to heal, I will do my weights and push ups today and maybe start some sit ups, but I want to give my poor legs a rest….

I am grumpy and in need of chocolate….Mr Grumpy might be getting close………

Xmas shopping failure :D

We failed ay highpoint, heading to doncaster tomorrow.

On the upside, we picked up the new car and took it for a spin 😀  and spent most of the evening walking around highpoint, so that was at least some exercise AND i bought a stepper from rebel sport as that is part of the circuit I am doing.

I just finished some circuit work 😀  Heading to bed now…am exhausted@

Eek…I think I am screwed :D

I was sitting on the train platform Friday afternoon, waiting to board my train home, and my phone rings with a blocked number, and like the rest of the population I wonder if I should answer it….turns out I am lucky I did.

I have a job interview on Monday for the job I wasn’t sure if I should apply for…it’s at 11am and I am a little freaked out to be honest as I was hoping to have time to prepare and get my thoughts together, but well, now I can’t…HAHHAAH

I applied for it at about 10am on Friday, then at about 11am, my boss pulls me into a room and says “Why didn’t you tell me you had applied?” and I said, I applied an hour ago, and if you had been at your desk since I would have told you, as a point to note I always tell you when I am applying for jobs so you know this is not the norm” he then said “Well she has called me about you already and asked some questions.”

Apparently, to cut a long story short, the team leader had a huge amount of applications to sift through and she was trying to cull the list by speaking to the managers of people early. My Manager apparently told her, that I have been wanting this position for a while AND that as I trained the current position holder I would be a very good candidate for the position. Which was very nice of him. I also spoke to one of the current people who has the team leader about the position, it is not in the team I like, I actually dislike them quite a bit, but if I consider it is a payrise and some super experience for other things, then I would do it 🙂

Potentially its a fair pay rise, as it is an entire group above me, so fingers crossed if I get it, D and I will both be earning more 😀

Anyway, so Monday I have to get to the new building, which I have no idea how to do….will probably catch the trams I am guessing since I am not catching a cab…but it will take me at least 40 minutes apparently, which means Monday is a complete write off time wise…..oh well….that’s their fault for interviewing people in different buildings.

I am hoping to go out this weekend and find a new shirt and perhaps a suit, but I don’t think that will happen considering how much weight I have put on…but we shall see…I might try and buy some new shoes as well, just some sort of heeled thing that i can put on for the interview maybe.

What a weekend :D

Busy weekend is just bloody busy!!

I was in the city for my sisters 18th surprise bday party 🙂 She thougth she was just going for lunch with her parents and siblings, she was shocked as hell to see about 40 people jump out yelling surprise!!!  LOL  Was pretty cool.  I got to catch up with some of my cousins and I was in so much pain from laughter by the end of the afternoon.  They are growing up into fun teenagers and I am thinking I may have to organise a BBQ and drink feat for them all to come to the new place and have some fun 😀

I then went to my mothers place after that for her birthday (it was actually last week) but we were both so broke that neither of us could afford to do anything, in fact I had lent her money to survive.  We were going to have Thai, when we got there realised they are under new management and currently closed so we went and grabbed some noodles, was good to catch up with her.  She is sad as her husband is still in nigeria (for the forseeable future I am guessing) and she was missing him….which I can understand 😦

I finally got home at about 11pm, which was about 15 minutes after the hubby got home from ritual for winter.  He said it was an ok night, nothing huge but was good.

Sunday we went for a drive to Castlemaine to find a screen for the fire place, we walked around for a little while and found something suitable.  Had lunch at a lovely little cafe…hrmm Pronta I think it was called.  We were there just on noon and there was us and another couple there….by the time we had ordered – maybe 8 minutes later – the place was almost completely full 🙂   Was ok food and not too badly priced.

We then headed to a winery just outside of harcourt – bress.com.au  and tried some of their ciders…they have some nice wines, a sweet cider which I really liked.  The problem being we asked for a Shiraz and by the time we got home to open the wine we realised we had a bottle of pinot noir….YUCK!!  So we were a little annoyed to be honest.

We spent the next hour trying to get the open fire lit…let’s just say it is a very differnt thing to lighting a fire inside as opposed to out in the bush 😀  We eventually got it happening and it was gorgeous.  Until the fire alarm went off about 4 hours later and my dog started to howl.  I was running around the house trying to find the broom to switch the alarm off  and he decided that was taking too long….understandable really – it was hurting my ears,  I can only imagain what it does to dogs ears…

What a weekend!!!  Just don’t feel as though I have had a break to be honest!!  LOL
