Modelling? LOL

My bestie in Sydney, is having a modelling day with some gorgeous women…and I have been invited…I am wondering whether I can pull it off?  I have never been very photogenic and I am not very comfortable in my current state, however there is one major reason why I am even contemplating this….

to be able to show off down the track.

My friend is a fabulous photographer – she says she still needs to learn to play with shadows (whatever!!) but even without that she manages to capture people on film so beautifully….(not just people, but that is the focus of this shoot). I am a terrible people photographer…I am much better at landscapes and nature….she is amazing…that picture with S on the chair…REOW!!  Still sticks in my mind…I wonder if I can convince her to let me get a print of that….mmmm there’s a thought…would be a great bedroom shot…..above the vanity mirror….maybe I should take my camera and take shots of everything that is non person related 🙂 that os my talent…HAHAH

anyway, tangent there….

I would be able to look at these photos and feel sexy I am sure, but it also means in say 12 months, I could ask her to do more shots of me (hopefully skinnier) and then more again later, that would chart my progress so to speak.  They could show the internal change as I am sure it would be possible to see a change in expression over time with regards to be comfortable in front of a camera….

Either way I am honoured to be invited and I really hope I don’t chicken out at the thought….

The other thing to note about this shoot, and I really want to support her with this, is because this is the first one since her mother passed and I think it shows she is getting her footing back into something resembling normal life and I want to be there to support that.

Videos and pictures

Here are some pictures from the trip 🙂  I have placed them behind a cut and also, you can see heaps more images from Sydney on my deviantart account – Click Here for DeviantArt account

There are heaps more images on my site, I didn’t want to upload them all here and there and basically be duplicating.  So I am sorry for doubling up (I also have to upload to my uni assignments as well, so I may be here for hours yet!)

Also, here is one video from the state of origin, just to give you an idea of the atmosphere of the crowd 🙂

Rugby and the zoo :)

Three other awesome things I did whilst in Sydney.  We went to a Dragons match, on our first night there, which was so cool, to finally get to see them play live, they got their buts kicked – yes – however it was good to go as a pre-cursor to the insanity which would be the state of origin.

I have never been to theANZ stadium before, and omg it is massive.  Seeing it on TV just doesn’t really do it justice.  I was in awe.  Anyway, yobbos were everywhere and people were just a little over excited I think.  We were in the Blatchy Blues section – we were all given blue wigs and Tshirts for the occasion.  We happened to be in a particularly insane section of the crowd.

I have no idea why, but there was one QLD guy in the middle of it all, trying to start shit with all the NSW guys, so lets just say he copped it hard.  He would just keep egging them on.  In total I think there was about 5 punch ons 2 rows behind us and in the end, security had to get involved.  Apparently, he threw punches at the cops and they took him down in spectacular fashion and he was removed from the game.  Why you would waste a $60 ticket is beyond me!

Anyway, I was freaking out a little at that, but wonderful hubby didn’t leave my side unless there was other people there. We went with about 10 poeple from his work.  So I was safe the entire time.  Which was fabulous 🙂

Anyway we did eventually kick QLD’s arse, only taken 6 years.  The next game is in QLD in July and I am so very tempted to try and get tickets to that!!  LOL  The atmosphere was amazing!!  What I image the NRL grand final to be like actually, but better 😀 Both hubby and I had very sore throats due to all the yelling and cheering 🙂

I really wish Victoria was a rugby state like NSW, everywhere I went in NSW rugby was the topic and I was loving it. We can’t have everything right?

Anyway, the next day I went to the zoo with my new camera 😀  Stupid me, forgot how much the taronga zoo is based on Mt everest !  That entire zoo is on a mountain side and has more hills than you can poke a stick at, but I pushed through for my love of the animals.  The rain disappeared when I got to the zoo, and then started up again about an hour later.  It came and went, but was ok, there was plenty of places to stop for shelter and let it rain itself out.

I had so much fun at the zoo, I honestly think wet weather is the time to go.  All the animals are out and about and actually doing things.  i got some simply wonderful shots because the animals were fairly active.  It was also one of those days with few people (if any) at the enclosures, so I basically could just enjoy the animals in peace.  So many times throughout the day, the animals would look straight at me as well.  Maybe my bright red top was eye catching for them.  I was loving it.

I cornered by a peacock at one point, he looked ready to take a bite out of my jumper or camera bag (which is also red).  He would not let me move for about 10 minutes, it was awesome being so close, seriously he was basically touching me.

I walked all the way down to the bottom, and then caught the skylift back up, which was so nauseating!!  but I enjoyed it!  I thought I was going to vomit about 1 minute into the ride back to the top…it was swinging wildly and moving upwards…eeep feeling sick again typing about it 🙂  But sometimes you just have to deal with it because I was ok once I was in the air and it was so much fun!

Anyway plenty of photos to follow of that 😀

the zoo :D

I had the urge to get out of the house today.  Not having a job does have its downsides. I am getting more restless the longer I am not working….I am not entirely sure I could ever be a stay at home mum 😀    Don’t get me wrong – I like not having to go to work, but I just didn’t want to do anymore housework or internet surfing….

So I went to the zoo 😀  I tracked my walk – it was 5m’s.  I have posted some images below 😀

365 Project

Whilst reading through Facebook status updates I came across an interesting one from a friend :

http://365project.org/

The idea being you post an image every day that you have taken that day as a reminder of all the things happening in ones life we forget about.

I am intrigued by this idea and am going to give it a shot.  Can’t say how long I will actually remember to do this for, however I have pulled out the old (little) digital camera so I can throw it in my bag and perhaps snap shots of my day as I am just living life.

Also because hubby reminded me the other day the SLR is not actually my SLR and therefore he would like to use it…..*hehe*  so I kind of feel guilty and have given it back to him 😀  So until I get a job and can save the money up for my own camera – I am back to using my ole Olympus.

I then jumped onto wordpress today and found they have the same thing happening – blog a day….I am wondering if I should sign up for that as well, although I tend not to blog every single day I do blog quite regularly..perhaps I should sign up for the blogaweek thing instead then 😀  Covers my butt since I do tend to post weekly if nothing else 😀  So here goes I guess!

Blog update

I am just playing with my blog appearance – once again!

I have decided to use this awesome theme which allows me to pick my background and header and make it look awesome.  Well I think it looks awesome but most people who know me, know all my artistic talent can be stored in the nail on my pinkie finger 😀

So I will be changes my images every now and then and they will only be of images I have taken, that way I can at least look like I appreciate my own artwork 😀 hehehe

Time for an update

It has been a while since I posted, in all honesty I just haven’t felt like writing.  I am annoyed with too many things that if I think of writing about them I get all angry and it will be a bad post 😀

I am still annoyed about a lot of things, but honestly they are just not worth my effort…

On a brighter side, I don’t have to have second interview for the L and D role I applied for – again….interviews are happening next week though, so I will hear something the week after I am guessing.

Our bonus’ from work are supposed to be paid at the end of November, so I am planning to tell them to shove it just before that happens to I can get it paid.  If I leave here before then I don’t get my bonus, and yes I know it may only be a small amount, it is still money for free so to speak.

I am going to have to work hard at finding a job once we are closer to that date.  But I don’t want to think of it just now!

I am going to buy a second hand treadmill as well, I have given myself 12 months to lose as much weight as possible.  My plan is to do 30 minutes of treaddie a night at bare minimum.  If I can do more than 30 mins I will.  Essentially, if we are watching TV – I am walking – that is my plan.  Before I jump onto the computer I do at least 30 minutes.

I have been going nuts with the photography, poor hubby hasn’t had a chance to use his camera very much – i keep stealing it….but I am really enjoying it.  Have been throwing the ones I think are good up on deviantart and getting slow but steady feedback about some of the shots…I am nowhere near as good as my friends or the people on deviantart – but we all started somewhere no?
